I heart Toronto! Plain and simple. Ottawa is a clean, safe, pretty city. There are more museums than you can count on your fingers and toes. But my heart and soul still lie with Toronto. I get butterflies of excitement when I am flying and driving home because I know at the end of the ride, I am in my favourite city.
Last weekend I was home. It was a whirlwind of a visit. So many people, so much fun all jam packed in a short 50 hours.

My friend came with me on the trek home. Normally I fly, since it is literally an hour long flight, but my friend and I drove. We didn’t hit any traffic enroute to T.dot. We made in a flat 4 hours. No excessive speeding since the cops like to litter themselves along the 401. We had a great dinner with my Toronto besties at Joeys. Mini burgers galore! I was one happy camper!
Saturday was a horse day. We slept in , and then spent some time with the real Tobakiss. It was amazing being able to ride him for 20 minutes. It had been over a year! Luckily, my friend was able to capture the moment as well with some fantastic photos.
Saturday evening we headed to the Royal Winter Fair. It is a family tradition of mine. We always go on the weekend of the closing ceremonies and watch the Big Ben Challenge. A lot of Canadian and International riders compete and perform for all to see.
Sunday was a special day! My grandfather celebrated his 93rd birthday. We had a special lunch for him and a lot of our family all made time to celebrate with him.
The drive home was uneventful. No traffic, just smooth sailing. I must admit that my bladder is not like it used to. We had to stop multiple times or else I probably would have peed my pants. I used to get so annoyed on family trips with my parents when we would frequently pull over to use the facilities. I know no why.
My countdown to my next visit starts now…..
