My Room, My Sanctuary

It has been quite some time, many years, since I can truthfully say that my bedroom feels like it’s my escape. My room consists of many elements that make me feel relaxed and at peace. For one thing, I actually have a decent sized closet! To some this may not seem so exciting, but for a woman with a lot of clothes, this is heaven! There are pictures of my horses and friends up, giving me daily reminders and memories of how amazing they all are. The color of the room is nothing special, just white, however this has worked quite well into the decor aspect. Something inside of me awoke after a long time, and my creative energy has resurfaced. There are many successful DIY projects that are incorporated into my room. I have the Starburst mirror made from spray paint and skewers, the hair pin leg table with the pine table top, and the little terrarium on my window ledge. I have a couple more in store but will post them upon completion.

I look forward many nights now, to coming home after a long or stressful day. Just sinking into my bed and letting all of my worries and troubles fade away. The view outside my window is amazing as it is of the serene and beautiful fields Experimental Farm. I should also mention that years later, I am now appreciative of the routine my mother instilled into me as a kid; make your bed every morning! It is almost like the icing on the cake to walk into my room and the bed is made. An instant feeling of calmness takes over.

That’s all for now! Have a wonderful day!
